I have been fat all my adult life. I do have health problems but mainly I over eat. I had a very uneasy relationship with food always viewing it as an enemy that I had not bested in thirty years.

I had thought about surgery to help with my obesity at odd times over the past few years but never gone any further than that. Then in May 2007 I had a "life style" appointment with my doctors practice nurse after having a series of test, coupled with my deep unhappiness at how I felt and looked. Things had to change.

Once this decision had been made I set about changing my diet immediately whilst I looked to find a company that I felt confident in. I read widely on the internet to settle on the exact procedure I felt I should go for and after talking to providers who did their operations in India, Belgium and Czech Republic picked Cosmetic Bliss.

The support from Cosmetic Bliss took me through every stage with ease. Still, when I left for Brno to have the operation I was very nervous and questioned myself as to whether I was doing the right thing.

When I arrived at Brno on the arranged flight from Stansted I and another lady having the same operation were met at the airport and taken to our hotel for the first night. The hotel was efficient and clean and the following morning our taxi arrived to take us bright and early to the clinic for tests and to meet the surgeon Mr Cierny.

Mr Cierny is a very nice man who throughout my stay showed me nothing other than professional, compassionate and first class care answering any questions that were put to him and making every effort to ensure I understood what was happening at every step of the way.

The hospital looks a little dated on the outside but once into the ward areas they are new, clean and pleasant with rooms that hold two or three people at a time and each with its own bathroom containing a large shower, toilet and hand basin, all kept scrupulously clean.

The nurses had varying degrees of fluency in English but at no point did I feel worried because of any potential misunderstandings. One thing the hospital does have in common with our English hospitals is the time you are woken in the morning, yes- you guessed it- 6am!

I don't know really what to say about the operation itself. I felt uncomfortable and sick the day of the operation, Tuesday, but was walking around the next day and all drains where out by Thursday night, two days after the operation, everyone reacts differently to medical procedures and pain. I think the best way to sum it up is say that all I needed to make me as comfortable as possible was done. Cosmetic Bliss have kept in touch so that I have no worries over anything that happens post operation.

It's what has happened since my return home that has been the biggest revelation to me. Over the past three decades I have always felt hungry on my seemingly permanent diet and really never got anywhere. Now after following the strict diet for the first few weeks after the procedure I find I can have a meal of say two sprouts, half a carrot and a tablespoon full of Mushrooms (I'm a vegetarian before any meat eaters start to worry) and I'm full ! No kidding, no exaggerations, no japes - the strangest thing is knowing that although my brain seems to react to smells as before , my stomach doesn't tell me I'm hungry and need to eat. I find myself unable to put into words the sheer delight at not being ruled by my appetite anymore.

In total I have lost five stone, three and a half before the operation over four months and one and a half since in the space of four weeks. I know the weight lose will reduce to a more manageable amount every week but I now feel 100% confident that I will lose the weight and keep it off and that I have changed my eating habits for good. I am starting to get my interest in clothes back and now as a size 20 can begin to buy clothes in a wider range of shops.

I have another four stone to lose and I expect this to take until June 2008, I am exercising, swimming and walking and enjoying life again, I feel able to look people in the face now and not worry that they are looking at me and judging me as just a fat person but that as the weight comes off they will have to judge me on my actions rather than the easier path of my size.

Really it's a case of "watch this space"

After spending many a year as morbidly obese man I came across Cosmetic Bliss on the internet. After careful consideration and reviewing other websites and lengthy phone calls with questions and answers to Deborah and Michael, I decided to take the plunge and change my life forever and opted for the Sleeve operation.

The build up to the operation was good Deborah and Michael kept a clear line of communication open with me asking if I had any final questions before I went and so on.

The service that Cosmetic Bliss offer sounds good - but to put it in a nutshell its way beyond what you will expect!

The Owners of the company meet you at the airport and take more time out to know you and understand you and why it is that you are doing this. After arriving at the airport you are picked up and taken to the hotel where you can enjoy your last meal before your life will change for the better. Once at the clinic you are introduced to several consultants who will look after you and a team of highly caring professional nurses.

After the operation I cannot stress how high class the treatment was. It can only be described as PERFECT. You are more or less assigned a nurse to look after you per day. The consultants come and visit you twice a day. Deborah comes and visits you every day.

The after care that Cosmetic Bliss give is second to none! They not only say they care but they go out of their way to prove they care.

As for Dr Cierny and his team of staff words cannot describe how he and his staff have changed my life. I have nothing but praise for him and everyone connected with Cosmetic Bliss. In my opinion they cannot be beaten on Quality of Service or on price.

I have to say that my experience with Cosmetic Bliss and Dr Cierny's clinic was excellent. I would have no reservations recommending all you guys to anyone and everyone. You and Michael in particular are fantastic ambassadors and really look after your clients. But more than that, your genuine empathy, compassion and desire for the best for people is refreshing, heart warming and really appreciated, thanks again to you, Michael, Dr Cierny and everyone else for making my experience a very positive one.

I'd like to say thank you again for making this all possible for me. I'm really overwhelmed at how friendly, caring, kind and helpful you and Michael, the nurses and all the doctors were, thank you all so very much.

I have no regrets at all about having the procedure - except maybe that I didn't do it years ago!!

Since the procedure, I have actually felt very well - better than I have done for a long time. The only problem I have found is that as I'm becoming smaller and smaller, my husband and the dog are becoming bigger and bigger, picking at my leftovers - I've never had leftovers before! I'll be booking the dog in with Dr Cierny shortly!!!

I first looked at lap banding in January this year (2007) but I did not get a good feeling about any of the companies I saw advertised. I called some though but along with the no confidence feeling, they seemed expensive.

I went on my hols in May - on a Cruise. I love Cruises, but I did put on more weight, so I came back and thought "I really need to do something about it".

I was a good size 12 when younger but put on weight when I developed an under active thyroid - 3 stones in all. I managed to lose it, but I went through a messy divorce and then had a car accident which meant I could not exercise and so I piled on the pounds. I felt so down and also I started to work from home sitting on the computer. Before I knew it I got up to 16st 111/2 lbs.

I used to walk the dogs in morning when no one would see me and in the dark at night.

I tried Weight Watchers, Herbalife and Slimming World, but failed to lose weight.

So, one Monday - you know, the Monday you are going to diet again and break it before lunch - after the May holiday, I searched again on the computer and a company called Cosmetic Bliss came up.

I read the information on the website and thought "this can't be the price" and I read all about the surgery, the doctor, the place etc

I got a nice feeling about it, so I called them.

I got Deborah - she is lovely! She spent so much time explaining - not like other companies, and she said "I'll leave it up to you, but if you decide to fill in the form the Doctor will look it over , you need to meet a certain criteria, they don't just take anyone."

So, I thought about it for a day or two, filled in the form and after a few days Deborah called me to say the Doctor said that I was suitable for it mentally and physically.

So I booked my flight (my lovely partner came with me) and paid the deposit and before I knew it I was there.

Brno is lovely, and cheap too! When we got there we found the hotel was nice and comfortable and for anyone going with you, they do a great breakfast.

I went to hospital the next day (Monday) - a taxi ride away.

I got all my tests done but they found more than I bargain for - a hiatal hernia, an ulcer and kidney stones!!! I know if I had not had the tests done it could have been serious if not found.

I got my operation on the Tuesday. Dr Cierny (who is lovely & speaks good English) treated me for all my other problems no extra cost. When I woke up was a bit sore but no worse than a bad bad period pain. They gave me pain killers. I slept a while, but when I woke up did not feel hungry.

The hospital itself is so clean, and where else would you get a doctor that would come into see you every morning at 7 am, and last thing at night?

I was up and walking on the day of my operation, and got out on the Thursday.

Deborah was there when I was in the clinic, it was great to meet her - a lovely lady. (She called me and has e-mailed to see how I am getting on since I returned home.)

I ate my clear soup etc and did not feel hungry at all. I lost 13 1bs in the first week !!!

I feel great. Every day I know I am losing weight and I now feel positive about the only area in my life that was worrying and depressing me, and if I had not had the op to help me lose my weight, I know I would have just put on more weight still, and the other health problems would have gone undetected and I could have been really ill.

I would recommend it to anyone. The doctor is lovely and so are the nurses. It was an experience - not an ordeal, and an end to me being heavy. I'm looking forward to going back to get my band tightened, and to seeing everyone again - and losing more weight!

This Christmas my partner is going buy me a lovely party dress for his works do. Until now I've hidden under a disgusting baggy thing.

Look out people the old me from my younger days is coming back!!!!
