After Care

Our On-Going Support (After Care) for Bariatric Surgery Patients

  • Surgery is only the first step towards effective weight loss.
  • 25% Surgery, 75% You, and your commitment and desire to achieve long term success
  • We will support you and advise you FOR AT LEAST 2 YEARS AFTER YOUR WEIGHT LOSS SURGERY!!

We want your weight loss procedure, whichever form of surgery you have, to be a complete success for you, and we will support, advise and encourage you throughout the process of your weight loss and beyond.

Weight Loss Surgery is the only statistically proven effective long-term treatment for Morbid Obesity. Weight loss following your procedure can achieve results that can transform and prolong your life, and allow you to be healthy, fit and active. Surgery gives you a wonderful tool to allow you to lose weight quickly, effectively and permanently with only a little self discipline and effort.

The surgery in itself is not a magic wand, though – you still have to put the effort in and work with it, accept the limitations it makes to your eating habits, and maintain a healthy diet, exercise and eating regime after your operation.

It is a well-established fact that those patients who are most likely to succeed with post-operative weight loss and are most likely to sustain a stable reduced BMI over the years take full advantage of the support and advice offered by nutritionists and after-care providers. For this reason we insist that you complete and send us a Cosmetic Bliss Weight & Measurement chart each month after your surgery. This allows us to keep a close check on your progress and helps us monitor your weight loss.

We will discuss your post-operative weight loss management with you even before you come for your surgery, and we will be there to give you lots of tips and encouragement through your weight loss journey. We are there to help you if you hit a plateau in your weight loss before reaching your goal weight or if you have any other issues or problems related to weight loss and the maintenance of correct weight and healthy eating plans following your surgery.

Because we recognize the importance of good aftercare, when you agree to come with us for your surgery, you have to agree to keep us fully informed of your progress after surgery, and you must also consent to complete any food diaries and questionnaires we send you from time to time, and agree to approach  us for  support, encouragement or any specific advice you need. You have spent a lot of money on your procedure – we are all committed to ensure you make a success of it, but, in the end, it will need some effort on your part too – the great thing is that it will be worth it!

Whilst keeping up contact with us after weight loss procedures is very important, it is also important to have support from family , friends and also your fellow Obesity Surgery patients. Many of our former patients chat to and support each other on the Cosmetic Bliss Facebook page, where our reputation for excellent service and care for our patients can be seen.

We are very proud of what we do, we are also proud of our patients success, and we work hard to maintain a reputation for the highest quality of care.

We know that the success of Cosmetic Bliss is based on the success of our patients in their journey through weight loss following surgery. Right from the outset, we tell everyone that Surgery is only the first step towards changing the way they approach food and eating, and we honestly advise patients from the outset that if they are not prepared to put in a little effort to make the changes needed after surgery, they should not spend their money – they simply are not ready for surgery!

If you are at the point where surgery is right for you, and you are willing to do what it takes to make a success of it, we will support and help you for as long as you need us. That is a promise!
